April and Slapstick
For today’s strip, the obvious ties to Constable Paul Wright were the sleddogs. For Jeremy, aprilp_katje handed me snark on a silver platter by bringing Jeremy and his girlfriend Dirne Aufkleber into the Blog entry. I popped a few off and then it was church and then the Pima County Fair, from which I have just arrived back.
Howard couldn’t really do anything without qnjones as Becky answering the questions he posed yesterday so he could gauge his reaction to the daughter swapping story. I would write something up from Howard now that qnjones responded to those questions, but that needs to wait until tomorrow. The fair left me tired and exhausted.
Tomorrow’s strip: I think I should be claiming prescience points with this one.

Whoo hoo! I can see an obvious plot line coming! I'm a big dog! Whoo hoo!
What then was the purpose for Paul Wright? Answer: To provide a means to get rid of the Warren Blackwood hanging thread. Liz chooses Paul over Warren, thus ending her relationship with Warren.
What's going to happen with Constable Paul Wright? This strip tells the story. Something about Paul Wright will show that he is the wrong guy. My prediction is the visit with his parents, put off from December.
It will need to happen sometime before June, so Liz is free for Anthony in the summer. The tricky part is that not only does Liz have to be free for Anthony, but she also has to have an excuse for not returning to Mtigwaki. Paul being the wrong guy could do it. Or Liz could just decide she doesn’t want to teach there anymore. However, with Paul moving to Spruce Narrows to be closer to Liz, then things have to move pretty rapidly or she will seem like a schmuck for ditching the job she is tired of doing just when he is moving there.
I predict:
April – We introduce Anthony is single.
May – Something goes wrong with Constable Wright. Liz decides to go back to Milborough with a clear conscience, since she is no longer with that scumbag Paul and Susan can take her spot in Mtigwaki.
June – Back in Milborough, Anthony pursues Liz.
July – Liz finds a school job in Milborough.
December or January 1 – Anthony proposes
September - wedding
Hey, and maybe Susan will turn out to be Paul's old flame. They were somehow star-crossed lovers and Paul was certain they'd never meet again.
I think the scenario you outline is frighteningly likely.
