See You At Christmas

In today's For Better or For Worse, Liz / Lynn makes a grand leap in logic without considering how real people act in certain situations. By saying Liz will not see Constable Paul Wright until December, it strained what little logic makes sense in their relationship. I worked it so Constable Paul Wright would never get any holiday or weekend off, even for vacation. Going through that exercise only confirmed in my mind how ridiculous the idea of Liz not seeing Paul until December is. If he is willing to apply for a transfer 2 times to be with her, if he is willing to drive her home, if he wants her to meet his parents so badly; it makes no sense whatsoever for him to suddenly decide he isn't going to try to make the trip as often as he can. Liz, I can understand, since she bitched and moaned about Warren never coming to see her, when he lived in British Columbia and she had 2 months off over the summer and could go visit him.

My family and I saw the touring show of The Lion King tonight. It was terrific and I recommend it to you, particularly as a part of a touring show, where is a lot cheaper to see the show than on Broadway.

Meant to love on your Paul post where it becomes obvious that a certain witch had tampered with his schedule. And added to that, Susan's discourse on Liz's luck. Awesomely amazing. :)

Thanks for the love. Of course, with Liz moving back into Elly's house, I don't know how lucky she is anymore.

Yup, this is Liz giving Paul the old heave-ho. She's too passive-aggressive to actually say, "Hey, it's over." She's just going to avoid him until he gets the picture.

I mean, WTF happened to Canadian Thanksgiving? Paul couldn't be invited to that? Or Liz to Paul's parents' house? And why could Liz visit over a three day weekend during the summer, but not meet Paul halfway during a regular weekend?

Although it is realistic that Liz should have to buckle down and work hard at her new job. The first year of a teaching job is the hardest, and Liz has some major catching up to do, since she has been teaching (lazily) in a very non-traditional school.

I have been loving Susan's take on all of this. She's right. Paul is screwed. And everything will work out exactly as Liz wants it to.

The most astounding part of this is that after this shoddy treatment of Paul by Liz, what can Lynn do to possibly make us sympathize with Liz when she starts spending time with Anthony and doing all the "Anthony is just a friend" schtick.
