Thanksgiving

It's Thanksgiving in the States, and my house is filled with relatives. I am afraid this means my snark on For Better or For Worse will be limited for the next few days. So sorry.

Happy Thanksgiving!

I don't know which made me laugh harder -- the fact that Liz was made out to be a woman with a past, or the fact that the FOOBiverse thought that Liz's alleged sexual history would be admissible in such a trial in Canada.

I also enjoyed the idea that Liz would somehow blame Howard for the questions she was being asked about her sexual history.

By the way, anonymous. Is there anything you can tell me about the role of the victim support counsellors?

Your first comment: Liz couldn't be questioned on her sexual history in the circumstances of this case. See section 276 of the Criminal Code. I'll try to link it below.

Your second comment: Victim support counsellors are a liason between the Crown/police and the victim, keeping them advised as to the status of the case, advising them as to their role in the case, and referring them to appropriate support services if needed. They might sit with them in the special waiting room and might accompany them to the courtroom, but they certainly wouldn't be advising them not to speak to other witnesses -- that's the job of the Crown (and the Crown ought to have given that advice before the trial began. Of course, I've yet to see a Crown in the strip.)
